About Us – DigiShield Kids
Researching children’s digital worlds in the age of AI
For Schools • DSLs • Safeguarding Teams • Journalists
DigiShield Kids is an independent online safety research initiative dedicated to understanding the fast-changing digital environments children experience every day. We investigate the platforms, algorithms, games and content ecosystems that shape modern childhood - from YouTube Kids and AI-generated videos to Roblox worlds, social media trends, and emerging online harms.
Our work uses OSINT-informed analysis, cyber awareness, and safeguarding expertise to provide clear, accessible insights for educators, parents, and the wider safeguarding community.
What We Do
1. Research & Analysis
We track and document emerging online trends affecting children, including:
AI-generated children’s content
YouTube & YouTube Kids recommendation patterns
Roblox game ecosystems
Memes, characters and digital cultures influencing young people
High-risk patterns such as violent thumbnails, algorithm loops, and impersonation
Our reports combine data-driven review with platform observation and safeguarding context.
2. Briefings & Resources for Schools
We aim to produce short, practical briefings designed for:
DSLs and safeguarding teams
Teachers and pastoral staff
Governors and senior leaders
Parent communications and newsletters
These include explainers, platform guides, trend summaries, and risk overviews - written to be calm, factual, and immediately useful.
3. Media Commentary & Expert Insight
We want to work with journalists who cover:
online harms
AI and children
gaming and youth culture
digital childhood trends
tech regulation and platform safety
Our research-led approach can provide clear examples, evidence, and analysis suitable for print, online, radio and broadcast.
4. Workshops (Online & In Person)
We offer accessible, up-to-date sessions for:
school staff
local safeguarding partners
parent groups
youth organisations
Workshops cover online content trends, platform risks, digital culture, algorithmic exposure, and AI-driven changes to children’s media.
